What is Industry Night: Computing and Mechanics?

Industry Night is a convention-conference hybrid held at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University. It brings industry partners, students, alumni, and faculty together for an evening of networking, recruitment, and idea exchange. Dinner is included.

When and where does Industry Night 2026 take place?

Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The venue is the Second Student Centre at York University Keele Campus, 15 Library Lane, North York, Ontario M3J 3K8.

Who should attend Industry Night?

The event is built for Computing, Electrical, Mechanical, and Space Science and Engineering students at York University, along with alumni and faculty. Recruiters, engineers, and founders from partner companies attend to meet students directly.

How do I get tickets to Industry Night?

Tickets are sold through Eventbrite. The Get Tickets link on this site points to the current listing for the 2026 event.

What should I wear?

Dress professionally. Recruiters and hiring managers are in the room, and the evening runs as a professional networking event rather than a social.

Is food included with a ticket?

Yes. Dinner is included with every ticket.

Should I bring a resume?

Bring one if you have it, but come ready to talk. This is a direct line to the people making hiring decisions, so questions and conversation matter more than handing out paper.

Which companies attend Industry Night?

The 2025 edition included AMD, Pratt and Whitney, AlphaWave Semi, Ontario Power Generation, TELUS, Dell, and KPM Power. Earlier editions have also featured RBC, Quanser, the TTC, and ULKASEMI. Partners for 2026 are announced in the lead-up to the event.

Who organizes Industry Night?

Industry Night is run by the Industry Night Initiative, founded by the York University Robotics Society, IEEE YorkU, the Lassonde Engineering Society, and the Lassonde School of Engineering.
